This workshop is tailored for legal professionals, corporate counsels, and business managers dealing with commercial disputes. It bridges theory with practical tools necessary for conducting and participating in arbitration. Organized by the Nepal Bar Council in collaboration with Nepal International ADR Center (NIAC), the workshop involves mock arbitration sessions, clause drafting activities, and discussion forums.
Participants will go through a hypothetical contract dispute case to understand each procedural step—from serving notice to appointment of arbitrators, preliminary hearings, and rendering the award. Experts will offer commentary at each phase, highlighting common mistakes and strategic decisions.
A session on comparative arbitration law will explore how Nepal’s Arbitration Act aligns with international norms. Discussions will also cover enforcing foreign arbitral awards under the New York Convention. Each participant will receive a printed toolkit and post-event access to online resources.
